IMPORTANT NOTE: For June, July, and August of 2026 the meeting location and time have changed: due to a conflict in scheduling, we are temporarily meeting at the Senior Center (799 Pine Ave, Carlsbad, CA 92008) adjacent to our current Pine Avenue Community Center location with the meeting running from 5-8 pm. There is ample parking and the meeting room is slightly smaller but will work for the 3 months listed. We are delighted to welcome Rene Van Rems, AIFD (American Institute of Floral Designers) to our society for the first time. Rene is “artist in residence” at the San Diego Botanic Garden and has produced 20 of the Gala in the Gardens fundraisers from its inception. Rene knows the garden well throughout his 42 year relationship with the former Quail Botanical Garden, ever since he landed from Amsterdam as a horticulture exchange student. San Diego Botanic Garden – World of Orchids

The Palomar Orchid Society and the San Diego County Orchid Society are participating in a month’s long 'World of Orchids Show' running from Saturday, April 3 through Sunday, May 2 at The San Diego Botanic Garden in Encinitas in their new conservatory. The conservatory is a beautiful, state-of-the-art greenhouse, with a cement floor, humidity control, shading, ventilation and security. The exhibition is being designed and installed by the SD Botanic Garden staff with several of our society's members providing blooming orchids for the display as well as select plants from commercial nurseries.
