Caravan to the Spencer's

Event Date:
Sat, 06/10/2017 - 10:30am - 3:00pm

The Palomar Orchid Society Caravan and SD County Cymbidium Society are planning a Caravan to see the Orchid Collection of Jerry and Anita Spencer.

The first Caravan of 2017 is open to Members of both societies.   It is planned for June 10 at the home of the Spencer’s in Fallbrook (Rainbow Canyon). Jerry and Anita have graciously offered to host the event.

The Caravan Committee is planning the details of the event and will send additional information regarding sign ups, schedule of events, lunch arrangements and repotting clinic as well as detailed instructions on how to get there. They will also coordinate car pooling and staffing the event.

Save the date! We will begin at approximately 10:30 a.m. and conclude before 3 pm. This should be a wonderful opportunity for members to see an outstanding orchid collection. There will also be a repotting clinic to help newer members learn how to repot various types of orchids and to serve as a refresher for experienced members.

Directions:

  • Exit 51 on I-15 (Mission Rd., Fallbrook)
  • Turn East and go to the end (75 Yards)
  • Turn left onto Old Hwy. 395 and continue going North to Fifth St.
  • Turn right, go past the school to the only stop sign
  • Turn left onto Rainbow Valley Blvd.
  • At Causey Way, turn right onto dirt road (cactus farm on the right)
  • Follow Causey Way to the Spencer’s house on the right

Alternatively, here are the Google Map directions from the freeway to the unmapped Causey Way intersection. Use “2579 Rainbow Valley Blvd., Fallbrook” on your own GPS/mapping app to get you there, turn right onto Causey Way and follow that dirt road to the Spencer’s house on the right.
